Wow, that went quickly. Looking at the back-to-school information on my desk, it’s crazy that we’re already here — looking autumn squarely in the face. This summer has been both challenging and amazing, and, as sad as I am about the days getting darker and the weather getting colder, I am so excited about what it means for the studio.
The challenges this summer have included a move (both awesome and difficult, as moves are often full of surprises) and having my kids out of school. While they did a few camps, we also tried to also keep things exciting by having them home more often this summer. That also meant having them in the studio with me while I whipped up various concoctions; they even attended a Mini-Camp or two. While I think I have mostly survived, there are still a few days left for me to change my opinion on that.
The amazing things have been the new location (yay HUB building!), booking some truly great parties and events, the fantastic campers who attended Mini-Camps throughout the summer, and getting to enjoy the Portland sunshine here and there. I’ve also started in on a few secret projects that I am super excited about, but those will have to wait for their official reveal!
Last year, summer was a slower season but - as soon as the weather turned - people wanted to get cozy with all the crafty goodness! With that in mind, I am planning out a pretty intense workshop schedule! If you have a class offering you’d like to see, drop a line and we can make it happen! That said, there’s currently only one or two weekend openings left for September, and October requests are coming in, so reach out asap.
You may have noticed that online scheduling has switched to Acuity Scheduling, which has so far made the workshop sign-ups soooo much easier. That said, it’s still a new (to us) system and there may still be some bumps in the road; please send a note if you run into any troubles.
As always, the people who come through the door are some of the very best — thank you for making it through another season and we’re looking forward to fall with you!
