Zero Waste PDX Meet Up - Guest Speaker: Jocelyn Quarrell of GO Box

Jocelyn has built her career working to develop and implement sustainable solutions in urban environments. After graduating from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, Jocelyn moved to Boston, MA where she became interested in transportation and how people move through dense city streets and sidewalks. Her commitment to commuting by bicycle led to a cross country move to Portland, Oregon in 2010. That year, Jocelyn began working with a start up called Alta Bicycle Share. At Alta, Jocelyn helped to launch and operate bike share systems in Washington, DC, Boston, Chattanooga, New York City, Chicago and San Francisco.

Jocelyn acquired GO Box in June 2018 with a focus to grow the system throughout Portland and in communities across the U.S. She’s excited to be learning about trash or, more specifically, how trash can be mitigated. In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys off road cycling, camping, and implementing low waste strategies into daily life. She and her husband, Danny, live with Bruno the dog and Birdie the cat in North Portland.
